During the April 2023 Photofina Imaging Expo in Hyderabad, India , Vimal Parmar was honored with the ‘Vande Bharat, Bheeshma Vishista Puraskar’ award for his tireless efforts and unwavering dedication to promoting the printing of photographs.

Vimal, our India Editor for Photo Imaging News, is a highly experienced professional with over 36 years of expertise in the imaging industry. As a successful marketing consultant and digital print evangelist, he has made significant contributions to the industry. In addition to his impressive career with top imaging organizations, Vimal serves as an educator, columnist, and advisor with a strong focus on advancing the art of photography and photo printing in India.

He is the founding member of the Professional Photographers Association of India (PPAI) and has been instrumental in promoting the importance of printing photographs among both professional photographers and the general public in India. His creation of the “Why Print” platform, where he advocates for the need to preserve digital pictures for the next generation by printing them, has received widespread recognition and appreciation.

Vimal’s contributions to the industry have not gone unnoticed. He has been featured in many publications and more than 200 of his photographs are on display in patient rooms and wards at a hospital in Mumbai, bringing comfort and hope to those in need.
